Thesis
Black people's rights improved when the American Anti-Slavey Society and the Philadelphia Female Anti-Slavery Society took on the responsibility to do so. Some of the things the societies tried to do were free slaves, make people aware of the issues of slavery, and make black people more included into society. They succeeded by going across the country and advocating for the black people, who didn't have a big voice in society.
“I will be as harsh as truth, and uncompromising as justice... I am in earnest, I will not equivocate, I will not excuse, I will not retreat a single inch, and I will be heard. ”
-William Garrison
